Top Ridge Townhomes celebrate grand opening

NORTH CREEK Even the rainy weather could not dampen the spirits of everyone who enjoyed the Top Ridge Townhome grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration on March 8. Dozens of visitors, local officials, friends, and family gathered to tour one of the completed Phase 1, three-story units, located on Claude Straight Road. Constructed by Eric Piper, owner of Piper Contracting, the homes embody the appeal of Adirondack-style architecture combined with subtle personal touches. With a commanding view of Gore Mountain and the surrounding mountainside, Top Ridge is the first completed townhouse project since The Summit on Route 28. Top Ridge has been in the development and construction stage for several years, finally breaking ground in Sept. 2007, well ahead of other area projects. The project has been in process for three years, Piper said. We hope for success with a full build-out of the 62 units, as well as an architectural impact on the area that local residents can be proud to have as part of their town. Noting his personal connections to the area, including optimism for the Gore Mountain expansion project, Piper is enthusiastic about the future of the area. I have fond memories of Little Gore, and think the Interconnect is an incredible step in the right direction, Piper noted. It will be a positive for our project as families get excited over the growth and expansion of skiing and facilities. Commenting on the qualities that make Top Ridge a unique offering to the area, Piper outlined his vision for a development that would provide a positive visual impact while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Top Ridge predominately used contractors and craftsman from the local area, giving them an opportunity to contribute their personal styles to the finished homes. A second open-house is planned for Saturday, March 15, from 1-5 p.m. Hudson River Trading Company will be displaying furnishings through the weekend, and the public is encouraged to attend.
