Hey Shredders: Some more things to take note of on your next More Gore Tour: *The stunning view of Blue Mountain, from the top of Fairview (Blue is the more distant one with the scars). *Little Dipper, often overlooked, but offering some of Gores best powder after fresh snowfall. Say hello to Bob & Fred, who will always bring a smile to your day at the base of the Sunway Chair. *The wall panels in the Northwoods Lodge, which were made from the former decking of the old gondolas loading barn. (Did you know the new lodge retained 65% of the former building's walls, floors, and roof? The construction of the building was an environmental success, recycling materials while celebrating Gores history. Pretty cool.) As I write this, a steady snow is falling on the mountain as the storm moves in- gearing you up for a fabulous weekend to ring in the beginning of March. After skiing yesterday, I didnt think it was possible for the conditions to improve, but a foot of snow can tend to do the trick. A lot of people comment that were coming into our down timenot the case at all! This weekend we'll be right around 100% open with every lift spinning. Snowmakers have been most recently working on Lower Steilhang- adding more fun for our awesome experts, and the glades are in great shape. The JI & JII Finals are coming into town on Friday for a seven-day event, lets roll out the carpet for them! By now you should be working on your sled- this years Cardboard Derby on March 9 is awarding the best adult sled a seven-night vacation with airfare to Aruba, and second place will take home a flat-panel TV and home theater system from Best Buy. Kids stand a shot at 2008/2009 full season passes, so be creative and have fun! Check out full event details on our website. Ems favorite day to ski: Monday. The groomers have generally been out in force the night before, and the mountain is on the quiet side, giving you plenty of room to cruise. I think Bev from Goose Pond Inn would agree? Thats the day I usually see her and her peeps. But Tuesdays are really nice too, then Wednesdays are Coca-Cola days, Thursday generally adds another lift or two and for some reason are usually sunny, and then all of your friends sneak out on Friday to come have fun... See you next week!
