Community events
TR Weekend meetings start March 19, 6 p.m. at the senior meal site. The committee would love to hear your new ideas!! Be a part of the team and join us for scheduling events for Sept. 6 and 7. April 5th, 5th annual Lip Sync contest sponsored by the NCS PTSO Anyone wanting to reserve the Fire Hall can call the Rescue Building and talk to our EMTs team. The number is 2107 Teen Challenge
I asked people to e-mail back with their thoughts and comments on the Teen Challenge facility, the recent land deal and uses the Town has proposed. This is one person's take on the Teen Challenge Center 1. They would hire locals to do the work preparing the property. 2. This means jobs for plumbers, contractors, electricians, septic, etc... 3. This would bring in several new families (counselors, teachers) into town possibly with children for our school. 4. Anyone renting snowshoes, kayaks, etc...would benefit greatly from use by students and their parents. 5. Would provide a potential 25 jobs. 6. Every bed and breakfast would be packed at least once a month from visiting parents. 7. We would need more business opportunities and housing in town which is the whole idea. 8. This program will only grow bigger. More jobs, more commerce, more new families. Combine this with the potential of a vast snowmobile trail system and we can acupressure this town once again and stop the downward spiral. Another Tattler reader wants the drinking water issues in Winebrook to be resolved before talk of spending more money on golf course etc... Anyone else have comments, ideas they would like to share? The classes of 1977-1979 are planning a reunion the weekend of the Steak Roast. More to come on this. Did you see it?
On Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, there was a hard rain overnight and a rainbow at 8 a.m. Unusual in February. Wednesday, Feb. 20. Did you catch the lunar eclipse? I was outside of Syracuse visiting family and it was spectacular! Thoughts, prayers
Remember all of our men and women serving in the armed services. Lots of people have been and are ill, some in and out of the hospital. Keep in touch with the following folks: Pam McLoughlin and Family of Emmett McLoughlin, Scott VanAuken, and the Family of Ted Bush. Hope you enjoy!
