To the Editor: As you may know the Town of Middlebury is considering implementing a local option tax to help pay for the Cross Street Bridge. If passed by voters at town meeting on March 4, and subsequently approved by the Vermont Legislature, the proposed town charter amendment would authorize town voters to determineat a later datewhether to implement one or more local option taxes. The local option taxes would provide a source of revenue to fund the proposed Cross Street Bridge without impacting the town property tax rate. Thank you. Andy Mayer
