Classicopia' to perform Dvorak and Brahms

Upper Hudson Musical Arts will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Sat. March 1 by Classicopia at the Tannery Pond Community Center in North Creek. A chamber music group from New Hampshire, Classicopia will perform Anton Dvoraks Piano Quartet in D Major, Opus 23 and Johannes Brahms Piano Quartet in C Minor, Opus 60. The group consists of Daniel Weiser on piano, Colleen Jennings on violin, Ralph Allen, viola, and Harel Gietheim, cello. Weiser, the groups Artistic Director, is currently on the music faculty at Dartmouth College. He is co-founder of both Classicopia and the Upper Valley Duo. The duo is a violin and piano team that served as the 1996 U.S. Artistic Ambassadors Abroad on a tour of the Middle-East and Asia. Weiser was also a founding member of the award-winning Adirondack Ensemble. Colleen Jennings performs regularly as an orchestral player and chamber musician in Europe and the USA. Ralph Allen has served as concertmaster at the Tanglewood Music Festival, in the European Camerata in Belgium, and with the Helios Ensemble in Amsterdam. Harel Gietheim, described as a "brilliant cellist," by the Boston Globe, has served as the principal cellist and soloist of The Young Philharmonic Orchestra of Israel.
