Ti Idol contestants advance in talent show

TICONDEROGA The semifinal round of Ti Idol will be contested tonight at 6 in the Ticonderoga High School auditorium. The program will be Country Music Night and will feature DJs from the WOKO radio Morning Roundup Show, C.K. Coin and Cowboy Cal. Facing off in the junior division, ages 7-12, will be Nicole Fuller, Brooklyn Savage, Ashley Goad, Brenna Michalak, Kaitlin Diskin, Brittany Savage, Samuel Isaac Agee, Janel Woods, Alyssa Rodriguez and Gracie Agee. Competing in the teen division, ages 13-18, will be Abbey Agee, Aubrey Backus, Adam Agee, Samantha Young, Kelsey Finley, Vanessa Fuller, Hayley Savage and Katelyn Mercer. Adult division competitors will include Brandy Lacey, Tammy Snyder, Cheech Rodriguez, Carolyn Fuller, Holly Savage, Arron Diskin, Alissa Glading, Tara Diskin, Evan Glading, Chris Hartley, Karen Henderson, Jim Firlik, Linda Agee and John Brooks. Tickets will be $6 for adults and $4 for senior citizens and students. The finals will be held July 3 at 7 p.m. in Bicentennial Park as part of the communitys annual Best Fourth in the North celebration. There is no charge to attend the finals. This year the winners of the Ticonderoga-based talent show will advance to compete against other contest winners at the annual Essex County Fair in Westport and perhaps to the New York State Fair in Syracuse. Patterned after the television program, American Idol, the event is open to individual vocal performances only . All contestants must reside full time within a 45-mile radius of Ticonderoga and must be amateurs. No bands or electrical instruments will be permitted. Proceeds from Ti Idol will be used for Ticonderogas annual July 4 celebration.
