LaChute River Duck Race to benefit PRIDE projects

TICONDEROGA The sixth annual LaChute River Duck Race to benefit PRIDE of Ticonderoga will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12, as the final event of the Ticonderoga Waterfest. Ducks are $5 and may be purchased at the PRIDE office or at Adams Rib, Emeralds, Gourmet Gal or Old Mill Caf_They will also be available at Stewarts on June 26, Wal-Mart on July 2 and the Ticonderoga Federal Credit Union on July 5. Ducks will jump from the Frazier Bridge at 4:30 at the close of the Waterfest and race to the LaChute Falls. Winners will receive $150, $100 or $50. Fourth and fifth place winners will receive official duck race caps. A Decoy Duck Decorating Contest will also be held. This years themes are the 250th anniversary of the French and Indian War and the 100th anniversary of Moses Ludington Hospital. Ducks will be judged on best costume, most creative, and theme. Ducks are $25 and may be purchased at the PRIDE office. Decorated ducks are due to PRIDE no later than June 30. Judging will take place after the Fourth of July parade.
