A sincere "thank you" for the overwhelming support

To the editor: As was reported in The News Enterprise back in March, Cory Gazaille has been accepted as a Student Ambassador in the national People to People program. He will be traveling with his delegation to Europe this summer, leaving in July and returning in early August. As part of this opportunity, it has been his responsibility to raise the funds needed to finance the trip. Since the original story was published in March, many people have come forward to help Cory with this rather daunting task. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them: First, the Johnsburg Central School PTSA . They allowed Cory to set up a cookie-decorating booth and a hockey-shot game at the Winter Carnival. Thank you, too, to the people who generously donated cookiedough, frosting and decorations. The response was tremendous. Second, thanks go to everyone for contributing to the bottle drive in April. Again, the response was great and people were excited and very generous toward Cory. The last official fund-raiser was Sunday, June 8 and we were once again overwhelmed at the amount of support that was shown. There are a lot of people to thank for this one. Sue and Rich Minucci were absolutely wonderful. They agreed to host the dinner at The Inn and created a perfect buffet menu. Their contribution went way beyond the money we raised and we cant thank them enough for the outstanding support and dinner. The following people also need to be recognized for having contributed to the silent auction: Pete Burns/Beaver Brook Outfitters Barb Delczeg/Joe and Company Jewelry and Minerals Jan Russell Joyce Smith Mike Hill (Adirondack Maple Syrup) Lisa Steres/Scenic Outlook studios Helene Goodman/Happy HOG Creations Judy Brown/The Garnet Studio Colleen Murtagh Marvin ODell/Custom Metal Works Gary Staub/Adirondack River Outfitters Craig Watson And, of course, the excellent entertainment was supplied by the Panther Mt. Band. It was great to see them come out of retirement. Finally, there are the private donations that have been made to Cory. People in the community, in the Johnsburg School District, and the Newcomb School District have been extraordinarily generous and thoughtful. We are truly grateful for your help. This would not be possible without you. We have to extend a special Thank You to Tracy Watson. She has volunteered her time at every one of Corys fundraisers. Her help and dedication were truly welcomed! Her mother, Judy, and her sister, Sue, were usually not too far behind, either. Thank you! We are also grateful to Brett Hagadorn at this newspaper. Anytime weve needed publicity or advice, hes been the go-to guy. Thank you for all your help. This letter cannot possibly convey this sincere and heart-felt gratitude we feel for the generosity and support that has been shown to Cory, but we hope its a start. The Gazaille Family
