MIDDLEBURY Vermont Attorney General William H. Sorrell announced last week that his office has settled charges concerning Suburban Propanes practice of assessing tank removal fees not specified in contracts between Suburban and residential consumers. Among other things, the company will offer restitution to all residential customers in Vermont who were charged a tank removal fee from January 2004 to the present. Suburban will also pay the state up to $25,000.
