Rutland man, Price Chopper awarded

RUTLAND Gov. Jim Douglas hosted the annual Governors Summit on the Employment of People with Disabilities From the Armed Forces to the Workforce; Supporting Veterans with Disabilities and their Employers. The day-long summit, created by the Agency of Human Services Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (VocRehab Vermont), raised awareness of the challenges veterans may face as they reenter the workforce, and generated recommendations for the Governor to help ensure veterans with disabilities are fully supported in their efforts to reintegrate into civilian life and to support Vermont employers as they welcome returning vets back into the workforce. Author Lee Woodruff, wife of injured national news reporter Bob Woodruff; Retired Colonel Jack H. Jacobs, Medal of Honor winner and military analyst for MSNBC; Gov. Jim Douglas R-Vt.), U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and U.S. Rep. Peter Welch (D-Vt.), were among the highlighted participants at the summit.
