Third Thursday Art Walks kick off June 19

SARANAC LAKE Saranac Lakes shops, galleries and studios swing into summer by hosting the talents of regional artists in a celebration of visual, literary and performing arts with the 10th annual Third Thursday Art Walks beginning June 19. The Third Thursday Art Walks are a self-guided tour through downtown where people can see and experience established artists and emerging talents from all over the North Country. They start out right at the top of Main Street at Rice Furniture and end up at Bluseed Studios. In between, there are galleries, studios, restaurants and shops exhibiting local artists and performers. This month features performers like the Wulaba and Soma Beats Dancers who were popular at last Septembers Art Walk story teller Marybeth Kikel, who will be painting faces with characters from her stories, blues and rock with Chaz DePaulo and a chance to meet the artist at the paintings exhibit by Valerie Patterson in the Cantwell Community Room. The walks celebrate the arts community through the entire region.They also celebrate the wonderful town and downtown merchants of Saranac Lake.The combination creates a great, stimulating atmosphere.
