LaFlamme receives ABCD Award for May

SARANAC LAKE George LaFlamme, who works in Facility Services for AMC-Mercy in Tupper Lake, is the ABCD Award recipient for May. ABCD stands for Above & Beyond the Call of Duty. The ABCD Award is presented to AMC employees who provide exemplary services or care that is outside of their job requirements and reflects positively on them, their field of practice, community and AMC. A certificate of appreciation stated that LaFlamme knew of a resident who was particularly close to Dr. David Thomashow, who passed away recently. The resident wanted to pay final respects to Dr. Thomashow by attending his funeral services, but was unable to get into a car. LaFlamme came into work on his day off and drove the resident in the facility van in order to pay final tribute to Dr. Thomashow. Clearly, Dr. Thomashow meant a lot to this resident, and LaFlammes selfless action helped this resident at a very difficult time. In addition to a certificate of appreciation, LaFlamme was given a $50 gift certificate.
