Champlain Centre announces new fundraising program for nonprofit organizations

PLATTSBURGH Champlain Centre has announced the launch of a new program called the Spiral Wishing Well to help area nonprofit organizations in their annual fundraising efforts. The Wishing Well is a bright-colored funnel that collects coins and is located next to the customer service area. Participating nonprofit groups will receive 100 percent of the proceeds. There are so many worthy causes that we would like to help, stated Champlain Centre general manager David Napolitan. This program complements the valuable mall space we provide to these organizations. On any given weekend, you will often find a dozen different groups throughout the Centre. According to marketing director Joan LaPier, customers can help their favorite organizations and have fun at the same time. People love to watch coins spin around in circles as they descend the walls of the funnel, LaPier said. And this program is in addition to our Night of Giving event the malls annual fundraiser to kick off the holiday shopping season. Organizations interested in learning more about how they can get involved with Champlain Centres Spiral Wishing Well Fundraising program may call Champlain Centre at 561-8660, ext. 113, or stop by the management office at the mall, located on Smithfield Boulevard. Spiral Wishing Wells have been raising money for organizations worldwide for 21 years according to their inventor, Steve Divnick. Since 1985, more than $200 million has been raised through the thousands of wells located in stores, restaurants, museums, and other locations across the country.
