Bushey elected as a Lions leader

VERGENNES At the recent Vermont Lions Club District Convention, held at the Killington Grande, Bruce Bushey of the Vergennes Lions was elected vice district governor. Bushey has been a member and leader of the Vergennes club for more than 16 years. He has served as their president, and in several other offices.He will serve this year as vice district governor and become district governor at the 2009 convention. The governor supervises the 44 Lions Clubs in Vermont, that makes up about 1,300 Lions. Bushey is a 25- year employee of Green Mountain Power Corporation. He serves as a distribution engineer. Awards presented to the Vergennes Club included second place in the districts Number one club contest, the St. Johnsbury Lions Club took first place. Vergennes is the largest club in Vermont with about 100 active members. Ed Langlois, Vergennes Lions secretary was named 100 Percent Secretary by the district governor. Lion Rob Keith of Vergennes received the Lion of the Year awardKeith was cited for outstanding work in teaching clubs how to increase their membership and visability and activity in their local areas. Keith chairs the District 45 membship development programs.
