Brandon Legion re-opens

BRANDON Renovations to the Brandon American Legion Post have been completed. After being closed for more than a month, the post has reopened. Residents are welcome to see the new improvements and d_r. A special Fathers Day Breakfast, to be held June 15, from 8-11:30 a.m., will showcase post improvements. The public is welcome to the breakfast; the price is $7 for all you can eat, eggs, bacon, sausage, homefries, pancakes, toast, gravy and biscuits, coffee, and fruit juice. On June 14, legion members will schedule a special U.S. Flag Retirement Ceremony, 11 a.m. at the post. Flags that are no longer serviceable can be dropped off on morning of June 14; legionaires will retire them with respect. The Brandon post also has some long-waving 3X 5 American flags for $10. Also on scheduled for June 14 is a dinner-dance and installation of officers starting at 6 p.m. On June 25, the public is invited to attend a special Lifeline Screening at the post.
