Essex to host 29th annual Essex Day

ESSEX The historic hamlet of Essex, New York on the shore of Lake Champlain will bustle with activity and fun on Saturday, Aug. 2 when Essex Initiatives hosts the 29th annual Downtown Essex Day. This town-wide market/antique sale is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. Walk-on tickets for the Essex-Charlotte ferry are half-price the day of the event courtesy of Lake Champlain Transportation. Visitors can stroll the towns pleasant streets and browse for antiques, collectibles, artwork, crafts, and gifts offered by over 50 vendors, shop owners, organizations, and residents. Musician Joan Crane will perform her delightful blues/folk tunes on the lawn at Pantoufs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Several restaurants along the towns main street and on the lakeshore will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and refreshment stands will be set up around the town. Local churches will provide rest stations.
