Alternative energy fair to provide ideas for heating, energy crunch

PLATTSBURGH During the meeting of the Governors Economic Security Cabinet, Plattsburgh Town Supervisor Bernard C. Bassett announced the town of Plattsburgh will host an alternative heating and energy fair. The fair will be held at the town office building, 151 Banker Road, on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The goal of the fair is to provide information about alternate heating methods and share information about various agencies that might help homeowners with their heating needs. We want to make sure people are at least aware of what they could do to help get through, said Bassett. He added while the fair is being held at the town office building, it is a regional effort that will welcome people from across the North Country. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided during the lunch hour with some giveaways and raffles. For more information about the upcoming energy fair, contact Bassett at 562-6800.
