Vendors plan August antiques fair

BRISTOL The Bristol Antiques Street Fair will be held August 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Main Street. The event is being sponsored by the Bristol Downtown Community Partnership and hosted/organized by Becks Alley Antiques. The antiques fair will bring over 20 vendors to the village from Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York, displaying a variety of wares from silver spoons to ornate credenzas, jelly cupboards to chairs and mirrors, and sporting goods to vintage apparel. Their booths will line the sidewalks of Main Street, with some downtown businesses offering specials to complement the fair. Three professional appraisers will be on hand to evaluate treasures brought by attendees. Bridget Leopold, of Becks Alley Antiques, is keeping the names of the appraisers secret to add a sense of suspense. The charge for appraisals will be $5 per item valued or $20 for 5 items. Anyone interested in being a consigner can also call; there is plenty of space. The cost is $75 per booth. In addition to antiques, there will be live music and local food to sample, as well as antique cars on exhibiti on the town green. Admission is free. For more information, call Leopold at 802-453-5466
