Middlebury to welcome "La Boheme" cast

MIDDLEBURY Principal singers of the Opera Company of Middleburys production of La Boheme will be introduced at a reception Sunday, August 10 at 5 p.m. at the Middlebury Inn. Artistic Director Douglas Anderson will host the program. He will outline the plot of the opera and will introduce the seven principal singers. Helen Weston, pianist, will accompany the singers. OCM will present four performances of Giacomo Puccinis opera August 18-24 at the Town Hall Theater in Middlebury. Scheduled to perform the role of Mimi is Suzanne Merrill who will sing I Want Magic from Andre Previns new opera Streetcar Named Desire. Richard Furman, OCMs Rodolfo, will sing Dein ist mein ganzes Herz from Das Land des Lechelns (The Land of Smiles) by Franz Lehar. The role of Musetta will be sung by Wendy Hoffman Farrell. At the reception she will sing Non piu mesta from La Cenerentola, by Rossini. Marc-Antoine dAragon will be Schaunard in the Puccini opera. On August 10 he will sing Eletsky's aria from Pique Dame by Tchaikovsky. Daniel Klein, Stephen Lavonier, and Joshua Sekoski will also sing.
