Batman to fly into fair

ESSEX JUNCTION Champlain Valley Fair today announced that Gotham Citys Batman, the Dark Knight crime fighter, will be on hand at this years 10-day Fair to meet fans, sign autographs and keep Chittenden County safe beginning August 23. The announcement comes just days after the summers biggest motion picture, The Dark Knight, opened in theatres July 18. Were excited to be able to continue the tradition of bringing a super hero to the Champlain Valley Fair. Last year, the Fair hosted Spiderman who was on hand to meet fans, be in the daily parade and ride in the daily parade through the fairgrounds, said Stephen Mease, communications director for Champlain Valley Exposition, home of the fair since 1923. Batmans schedule will be similar, with five to six meet-and-greet opportunities every day. His appearance fits perfectly with this years overall themeSummers Last Blast! Mease added. Hell also be a special guest at our Read and Win program August 25 for students grades K-8 who read at least three books this summer at their local library.
