Area businesses observe law in recent sting

LAKE GEORGE In an alcohol-sale sting operation conducted July 11 by the Warren County Sheriffs Office and the Glens Falls Police, most businesses tested by police obeyed the law and refused to sell prohibited beverages to minors. But Daniel C. Bagnoli, 27, of Albany an employee of Shepards Cove tavern in Lake George was arrested for Prohibited Sale of Alcohol to a Minor, police said. One of only two arrested in the regional sting operation, he was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Lake George Town Court. The New York State Liquor Authority will receive a referral on Shepards Cove, police said. Police conducted their attempted alcohol purchase operation at the following businesses, but they complied with the law: Christies Bar in Lake George; Cumberland Farms, Ashes Bar and CBs Bar, all in Warrensburg; Rydin Hi Ranch in Horicon; and the Olde Post Grill in Queensbury.
