TICONDEROGA Rosemarie Hanson, a Ticonderoga native and longtime proprietor of the former Bevilacquas Grocery in the town, has been named Moses-Ludington Hospitals Woman of the Year at the 2008 Moses-Ludington Hospital Auxiliary annual meeting. Also at the meeting, Mary Ann Vosburg, auxiliary treasurer, presented the hospital with a $5,000 check, money earned from the hospitals gift shop as well as from membership dues, to help pay for equipment updates in the emergency room. Hanson has been an auxiliary member at the hospital for more than a decade. Before that, she ran the family business with her late husband, Tom. Its fitting that she found her place as a member of the Moses-Ludington Hospitals auxiliary. She was born at the hospital, the only one of her siblings to be born there. Hanson continues to live in Ticonderoga, where two of her five children also live. Rosemarie is a very dedicated woman, said Carol Johnson, hospital community development director. She puts her heart and soul into her work here, and it shines. In truth, shes probably the most welcome auxiliary member, Mrs. Johnson joked, because she passes out the paychecks on payday. Im thrilled and honored, said Hanson. I enjoy volunteering more and more.
