Sudbury residence burglarized

SUDBURY On June 13, the Vermont State Police where advised of a burglary that had occurred earlier in the day at the residence of Charles R. Knakal on Duboff Lane in Sudbury. This burglary occurred between approximately 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The investigating trooper responded and spoke with the victim who advised someone had entered his residence while he and his wife were out. Knakal further advised that the residence had been burglarized three other times in the pasttwo of which had been reported to police. Also at the scene were Jamie Martin, age 26, of Hubbardton, and his employee, Matthew Church, age 25, of Poultney, who are currently working on the house directly to the east. Martin and Church acknowledged going onto the victims property and walking around the house looking into the windows, but denied entering the residence. Martin and Chruch acknowledged doing this twice while the victim and his wife were gone. Sr. Trooper Joshua Lemieux, VSP-Rutland/Castleton Outpost, spoke with a neighbor who had witnessed the two subjects on the property. The neighbor observed the two subjects acting in a manner that he felt was suspicious. Several pieces of evidence were recovered.
