Public transportation is focus of forums

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans), in conjunction with local public transit providers, in the coming months will host a series of public forums designed to receive comments regarding the future of public transportation. The forums, which will be held in a number of locations across the state, will provide area stakeholder groups as well as the general public the opportunity to provide input that will help VTrans and the states 12 public transit providers form effective Short Range Public Transportation Plans. When completed, each public transit providers Short Range Public Transportation Plan will include a review of the providers service area, define goals and objectives, examine current and future demand for expansion of services, and identify a marketing strategy.
