Fitness run to benefit hospice

POULTNEY The Martin Devlin Memorial 5K Fun Run will be held July 4 in Poultney at Green Mountain College with registration starting at 6:45 a.m. and the race bergins at 8 am. People of all fitness levels are welcome including walkers. Awards for youngest runner, male and female winners, first finishers male and female in age categories. The race was renamed several times in 2003 to honor Devlin, a past organizer of the run. During his illness, Devlin was cared for by the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice. Devlin's family is hopeful that the Fun Run can help raise funds that will enable the hospice program to serve other area residents in need of assistance in the future. The entry fee is $15 for adults and $10 for 17 and younger. Registration includes a t-shirt and a donation to Hospice. Participants are encouraged to make an additional donation at the registration area to the Hospice program in Martin's name. Registration is at 6:45 a.m. at Green Mountain College's gymnasium.
