Final round for TI idol approaching

TICONDEROGA The final round for the 2008 Ti Idol competition is here. Twenty singers in three division remain alive in the local talent show, patterned after the television program, American Idol. The finals will be held July 3 at 6 p.m. in Bicentennial Park as part of the communitys annual Best Fourth in the North celebration. There is no charge to attend the finals. Facing off in the junior division, ages 7-12, will be Brenna Michalak, Kaitlin Diskin, Brittany Savage, Alyssa Rodriguez and Gracie Agee. Moving on in the teen division, ages 13-18, are Abbey Agee, Aubrey Backus, Samantha Young, Kelsey Finley and Vanessa Fuller. Advancing in the adult division are Tammy Snyder, Cheech Rodriguez, Carolyn Fuller, Aaron Diskin, Alissa Glading, Chris Hartley, Karen Henderson, Jim Firlik, Linda Age and John Brooks. The semifinal round on June 21 was Country Music Night and featured DJs from the WOKO radio Morning Roundup Show. The committee would like to thank the on-air personalities from WOKO radio, C.K. Coin and Cowboy Cal, for making the semifinal show a huge success, said Dan Crossman, chairman of the Ticonderoga Best Fourth in the North committee, which sponsors Ti Idol. This year the winners of the Ticonderoga-based talent show will advance to compete against other contest winners at the annual Essex County Fair in Westport and perhaps to the New York State Fair in Syracuse. All contestants must reside fulltime within a 45-mile radius of Ticonderoga and must be amateurs. No bands or electrical instruments will be permitted. Proceeds from Ti Idol will be used for Ticonderogas annual July 4 celebration
