Suspects arrested for tire theft

QUEENSBURY On Jan. 16, 2008 at approximately 3:23 a.m., Patrol Officer Jesse Wittenberrg observed a large panel truck with out of state plates parked at the Queensbury Tire store on State Route 9 in the Town of Queensbury. After interviewing the two occupants of the truck it was discovered that they had stolen numerous used tires from Queensbury Tire, and from other area businesses. After further investigation it was revealed that the two did not have permission from Queensbury Tire to be on the property and furthermore did not have permission to take the tires. The two subjects, Richard K. Furman, age 39 and Michael G. MacDermott, age 48, both of Susquehanna Pennsylvania were charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree. They were arraigned in Queensbury Town Court and committed to the Warren County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
