4-H Seeks Outdoor Education Donations

WARRENSBURG There is still time to make a tax-deductible donation of either cash or items to the Warren County 4-H program for the 2007 tax year. Items being sought for donations are the following in good, working condition: archery (both traditional and modern bows and arrows up to 40-pound draw weights), snowshoes, canoes/kayaks, GPS units, backpacks, tents, fly rods, reels, flies, waders, outdoor education books, compasses, recent topographic maps of Warren County, firearms (.177 air rifles or pistols, .22 bolt-action rifles, 20 gauge semi-automatic shotguns), and ATVs (90-300cc). All of these items must be legally transferable by the owner, should be accompanied by paperwork where appropriate, and you are required to provide a full name and address to receive a donation receipt. The items are tax deductible to the maximum allowed by law. If you have any questions about such a donation, confer with your accountant before contacting us. Cornell University Cooperative Extension reserves the right to sell, trade, or dismantle any donated item for purposes of education. If you have any questions, please call John Bowe at 668-4881 or 623-3291.
