Hinesburg Wrestling team pinning the competition

HINESBURG Members of the Hinesburg Wrestling team have been turning in great results as of late, and hope that their success will continue in the coming weeks as Hineburg hosts a tournament and then heads to Barre High School for state finals. Tucker Austin, of Williston, has looked impressive so far this season, with first place finishes at tournaments hosted by Ottervalley, St. Johnsbury, and Milton. Austin finished second at Rutland. Calvin Ring, of Saint George, placed fourth at Ottervalley and Rutland, and third at Milton. Sam Fortin is undefeated this season, with victories at Ottervalley, Rutland and St. Johnsbury. Dustin Benoit of Hinesburg has turned in four fourth place performances. As a squad, Hineburg has tallied 31 takedowns, 10 pins, and 23 wins. This weekend, Hinesburg travels to Enosburg before hosting a tournament on January 31, at the Hinesburg Community School. States take place on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Barre High School.
