City Market to Donate over $7,000 to COTS

BURLINGTON City Markets 10th Annual COTS Holiday Tree Sale was a huge success allowing City Market to donate $7,740.25 to COTS (Committee on Temporary Shelter). 519 fresh balsam trees from Moffatts Farm in Craftsbury, VT, were sold as well as 30 recycled tree stands provided by Recycle North. Jay Peak also participated with a buy one; get one free voucher for a day lift ticket. This is the 10th year that City Market/Onion River Co-op has sponsored the fundraiser. COTS volunteers, City Market employees, and Co-op members worked together to help customers pick out, trim, and load trees. Last year, over $6,000 was donated from the annual fundraiser to COTS. The Onion River Co-op is a consumer cooperative, with over 2400 members, selling wholesome food and other products while building a vibrant, empowered community and a healthier world, all in a sustainable manner.
