Website Key to Regional Communications

Our communications department has been working most recently to develop new ways to reach out to the media and connect locals to regional and national networks in order to better serve the region as the primary tourism authority. This includes sending a large volume of press releases, media pitches with regional story ideas, networking with members of the media at internationally attended events, and facilitating communication within the Adirondack business community. There are a lot of things going on around our region, and if you havent stopped by our website, www.lakeplacid.com , take another look and find out whats there! As the regional tourism bureau, we are responsible for making sure the word gets out about activities and events for everyone to enjoy, but we need your help. If youve got something to share, be it an event, recreational opportunity, or promotional deal, look no further than our websites calendar of events to make it widely public. Our connections with local business leaders and media outlets as well as national and international networks allow us to get the word out for anything. Our website is extremely important in furthering the promotional and business goals of Lake Placid. Since our region is synonymous with fame past and present, those looking to visit us begin their search here. Our most recent look at traffic indicates that there were over 23 million page views on our website in 2007, which includes the calendar of events. By combining our extensive networking capabilities and comprehensive calendar, we are able to give a clear image of what is happening right now all around the Adirondacks. When we receive an addition to the calendar were automatically alerted to it so we can then provide the media with updates and information. Media on assignment such as travel writers, reporters, and other journalists regularly visit our site to look for ideas and things to write about, which in turn becomes great visibility for the region. If you have something going on and would like us to send out a press release or include it in our media outreach, please submit it to the calendar of events directly which can be reached easily from our homepage. Wed be glad to help you with this, so if you need assistance feel free to give us a call at 523-2445 and let us know what you would like to add!
