Two cell towers approved

LEWIS Drivers along the Northway will be able to pick up a cell phone signal in Lewis soon. Last week, the Adirondack Park Agency approved plans for two cell phone towers. The towers will be 89 feet tall, and constructed on private land in Lake George and Lewis. The towers are part of a plan by Verizon Wireless for 13 towers in the infamous Adirondack dead zone. Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward said she is thrilled with the approval for more towers, but has concerns about a proposal to create a comprehensive plan for Adirondack cell towers, saying that would likely slow the process. Tower plans call for sites at Holiday Pond, Underwood, Ashcroft Pond, Lincoln Pond, Leila Pond, Meadowmount, Boyle Road, Deerhead and McGuire Brook. We're getting there, but theres 10 to go, said Sayward.
