Transfer station takes old books

Looking to give your good books to a good cause? The Addison County Solid Waste Management District has partnered with Got Books to create a drop-off donation and reuse site for residents, businesses, schools, libraries, and other groups who wish to contribute books they no longer have a use for and would like to see repurposed. The Got Books donation site is located at the ACSWMD Transfer Station on 1223 Route 7 South. The container is available for donations from members of all surrounding communities every Monday through Friday from 7am-3pm and every Saturday from 8am-1pm. Advance notice is required for the donation of large quantities. Donating books is a great way to keep them out of the waste stream and give them a new life with someone who will treasure them as you once did. Many of the books donated to Got Books are sold in charity books sales to raise money for local nonprofits. Got Books is a used book seller and professional fundraiser dedicated to keeping books out of the trash. Got Books raises money for local charities and nonprofit groups by hosting weekly Charity Book Sales at their warehouse located at 35 Concord Street in North Reading, MA. Book donations are collected through their free home pick-up service and through books deposited at one of their 200 plus book-donation bins placed throughout New England. For more information about Got Books visit www.GotBooks.com or call 978-664-6555.
