NFL Picks: Just two more to go

How bout those G-Men?!?! Whod have thunk Eli would be still playing and Peyton would be heading home? Well, I felt good about the younger Manning, but I was pretty certain big brother would have had a date with the Evil Empire this weekend. Oh, well, none of that matters now. All that matters is that Big Blue is one win away from a trip to the Big Dance. Sure, itll be tough, but I have confidence theyll get by Green Bay and be in Arizona for a rematch with the Patsies. Ill admit my fingers are still bleeding where I chewed my nails off for the last eight minutes or so of the Giants/Cowgirls game. But the battered defensive backfield and relentless pressure on Romo saved the day. As exciting as the game was, one of the best moments of the weekend was T.O. crying following the loss. Are you kidding me? Suddenly hes a quarterbacks best friend? Im not buying it for a minute. My guess is that he was auditioning for an after-football acting career. If thats the case, I can assure you hell wind up in a fight with his leading lady about not getting enough lines, and will eventually throw her under the bus, just like hes done with every quarterback hes played with. But enough about that. In the AFC match, no way San Diego even makes a game of it against New England. The Chargers offense is all beat up, and The Golden Boy should have all day long to find one of his many receivers. And be certain, theyll do their best to run up the score. Would I be upset if the Chargers pull it out? No way! As for my beloved Jints, another efficient game by Eli, and tons of yards from Jacobs and Bradshaw will put enough points on the board to beat Farve and the Pack. The defense will get to Farve enough to make him start slinging the ball around, and Big Blues opportunistic DBs will capitalize. My picks: New England 52, San Diego 13; GIANTS 28, Green Bay 20. As Im filing this late, and Champion John Gereau is patiently waiting for this to go on a page, I dont have time to tally the scores of those who still are picking, but Ill get them in next week, so keep them coming. Finally, Id like to welcome the newest Giants fan to the world, Dean Johnson, my goddaughters first child! Congratulations Charlene and Mike! GO BIG BLUE!!!
