Garden club gets donation

TICONDEROGA Carillon Garden Club President Joyce Mouradian has announced that Jane Parmley, a deceased life member of the Federated Garden Clubs of New York State, bequeathed $500 to the Carillon Garden Club. She made the announcement Dec. 20 at the annual Christmas party at the Hague Creek Caf_ The Carillon Garden Club also bestowed life membership on Shirley Smith of Hague. Mouradian said Smith, a member of 29 years, was always willing to help in any way she could. Scholarship chairwoman Rose Marie Viscardi announced the award of a campership to state Department of Environmental Conservation Camp Colby to Harley Trudeau, an eighth grade honor student in Ticonderoga Middle School. Trudeau is the daughter of Jon and Diane Trudeau of Hague. Pat Wania, District IV director, installed the new 2008-2010 officers: Co-Presidents Joyce Mouradian and Joyce Cooper; First Vice President Betty Rettig; Second Vice President Nancy Law; Recording Secretary Ann Westervelt; Corresponding Secretary Katherine Webber; and Treasurer Margaret Howe. The Carillon Garden Club meets on the third Thursday of each month at 11 a.m. at the Hague Community Center. All are welcome.
