Build your own birdhouse

BRANT LAKE If you enjoy watching cardinals, chickadees, juncos and other birds in your yard, the Friends of the Horicon Library have a program for you. Childrens Program Chairman Barbara Blum has put together a program for kids five and up called Caring for our Backyard Birds, at the Horicon Community Center on Saturday, Jan. 26 beginning at noon. Blum has enlisted the help of North Warren Teacher Chris Stiles who has created birdhouse kits so the kids can assemble their own birdhouses. They can also make their own bird feeders during the program. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and members of the friends of the library will be on hand to serve refreshments and help out with the projects. These kids programs have become popular family outings, and the friends are asking that you make a reservation by calling Blum at 494-3357.
