Ticonderoga swept the boys and girls meets in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference indoor track action Jan. 3. The Sentinels scored 70 points to capture the boys meet. Seton Catholic was second with 58. Bryant Austin won the 55-meter hurdles and the high jump to pace Ti. Jonathan Granger took the 55-meter hurdles and was second in the long jump, while Lee Berube won the 600-meter run and was fifth in the 300 for the Sentinels. Brandon Carberry added a second place in the 1,600-meter run and a third in the 1,000. Mike Lonergan was second in the 3,200-meter run, Dustin LaFrance was second in the 300, Chris Maldonado was third in the shot, Michael Baber was fourth in the 55 hurdles, Pat Lonergan was fourth in the 55 sprint, Jay Berube was fourth in the 1,600 and David Cook was fifth in the 55 hurdles for Ti. The Sentinels won the girls meet with 67 points. Peru was second with 60. Ainsley MacAlpine, Elsie Phillips, Lexi Reale and Anna Besson combined to win the 640-meter relay for Ti. MacAlpine added a win in the 55 sprint, Phillips won the long jump and was third in the 55 sprint, and Reale was fifth in the 55 sprint. Emily Palmer won the 55-meter hurdles and was second in the long jump. Samantha Cawley captured the 300-meter run and was second in the 55 hurdles. Arielle Vilardo won the 300, Sarah Bennett was second in the high jump, Amanda Powers was second in the shot, Katie Karkoski was fourth in the 1,600 and 600 runs, Colleen Walls was fourth in the shot and Emily Price was fifth in the shot.
