Leicester town clerk won't run again

Leicester Town Clerk Donna Pidgeon has announced that, after almost 19 years, she will not seek another term as clerk or treasurer. If residents are interested in running for the offices, petitions are available at the Town Office and require at least eight signatures of registered voters, by 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28. To get an article on the Lecister Town Warning, 5 percent of the voters, approximately 40 signatures, are needed on a petition, to be handed in by 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24. Last day to register to vote for Town Meeting is noon on Feb. 27. Work on the town budget in preparation for Town Meeting begins this weekend will continue each Monday evening in January. Numerous positions in town government are open and candidates are being sought to fill positions, such as Selectboard for 2- and 3-year terms, Tax Collector, Lister, Auditor, Leicester School director 2 and 3 year terms, and OV Director for 2-and 3-year terms, Town Agent, Grand Juror, and Constable.
