CV-Tech students assist SPCA shelter

MINEVILLE The Skills USA chapter of Champlain Valley Education Services in Mineville collected more than 450 pounds of pet food and supplies for the North Country SPCA in Westport recently. Participating students were Ron Burroughs, Chelsea Keith, and Heather Staubitz of Crown Point; Carl Woodard and Nathan Snyder of Moriah; and Vanessa Fuller of Ticonderoga. The idea of collecting pet food and supplies originated with Carol Sherman and her cosmetology class. Special education classes also held an Elf Shelf that raised $150 for the NCSPCA. Skills USA is a partnership of students, instructors and industry working together to develop a skilled workforce. Kevin Shaw and Dawn Waters are advisers of the Mineville chapter.
