Gary and Linda Rounds will celebrate 45 years on Jan. 18. Birthdays this week are John Baker and Cassie Mott on Jan. 13; Wendy Pasco on Jan. 14; Nick May on Jan. 15; Harold Corlew, Matt Pasco, Lillian Hayes, Steven Smith and Meredith Sonley on Jan. 16 and Lewie Gallup Jr. on Jan. 18. Belated wishes to Bonnie Cameron on Jan. 1. Gerri Howe and Cliff Dureau have returned from a Christmas trip to Long Island where Gerri spent time with her daughter, Patti and Less Morro and family. Her son, Russ, Nerieda and son and other family members enjoyed a get together. Cliff enjoyed the holidays with his daughter Colleen and Tom Inzerillo and families in Smithtown. They were home in time to attend Nancy Beadnells luncheon on Dec. 30. EJ and Suzie Baker and son Dexter of Athol spent Christmas Day in Lake Placid with her mom, Gert Sears. Dexter stayed to enjoy some time with his grandmother during his vacation. Over the fence
Thurman is trying to put in a skating rink at the rec field. Volunteers have been working on it and can always use more help. Call Jim at 623-9961. The rink may be ready by press time, so call Jim to check. Get well wishes are out to Ray Haynes, Rich Wormwood, Bess Coulard, Tom Bolton, Tom Wunschel, Bill Arnold Jr., Bo Rounds and Ruth Pasco. Sympathy is out to the family of Gary Frasier who passed away on Friday, Dec. 28 at Glens Falls Hospital. The Childrens Christmas Party at the town hall was a huge success. Santa and an elf came to the party in a horsedrawn wagon decorated for Christmas, much to the delight of the children. Mrs. Santa also attended and handed out gifts. The Youth Commission would like to thank Roy and Jamiee Ross and Don and Nancy Decker for their special touches on this special day. The Thurman Emergency Squad meets at the squad building on High Street on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. The squad wishes to thank everyone who helped light up their memory tree during December. They had 356 lights/loved ones remembered for the holidays. The quilting group meets at the town hall on Friday, Jan. 18 at 6:30 p.m. Seniors club
The Sugar Loaf Group will meet on Saturday Jan. 19 at noon at the town hall for the first meeting of the new year. Bring a covered dish for dinner and all members and visitors are welcome to stop by.
