VTrans needs women!

You may be familiar with the classic cult sci-fi movie Mars Needs Women. Well, now the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is sending out the same callVTrans needs women in hardhats. Officials have announced an exciting and unique training and employment opportunity for women interested in highway construction. Step Up to Highway Construction is a free, nine-week training program providing women with a comprehensive introduction to the industry. The program, which is a partnership between VTrans and Associated General Contractors of Vermont (AGC/Vt.), gets underway on Feb. 11 in Montpelier. Program graduates are eligible for placement in paid, on-the-job training positions with VTrans contractors around the state. VTrans is currently holding informational sessions in Burlington, Barre, St. Johnsbury, Morrisville, and White River Junction through Jan. 15.
