Chittenden appoints new president

Chittenden Banks Board of Directors announced today, the appointment of Michael Seaver as president and CEO. As President and CEO, Mr. Seaver will oversee all aspects of Chittendens retail, commercial and wealth management operations. Seaver succeeds John W. Kelly who recently announced his retirement. Mr. Seaver will assume his new position soon after the completion of the Company's acquisition by Peoples United Financial, expected to occur on or about Jan. 1. Seaver is a member of the Executive Committee of The Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce and he serves as Vice Chair of its Regional Affairs Committee.Michael has beenactively involved with the Burlington schools for 16 years, andhe currently serves as Treasurer of the High School's Booster Club. A native of Northfield, Vermont, Michael resides in Burlington with his wife Linda and their three sons. Michael is an accomplished banking professional who has over 25 years of financial experience, commented Paul Perrault, Chairman of Chittenden Corporation. We are fortunate to have Michael lead Chittenden in the years ahead with his vast local financial services experience. I am confident Michael will continue to build momentum and provide our customers with the service that they have come to expect from Chittenden.
