William Dittrich

WILLSBORO Carl William Dittrich, 92, formerly of Willsboro, NY died at the Horace Nye Home in Elizabethtown, NY on Thursday 12/27/07. He was born in Hyde, MI 5/29/15 the son of Otto and Rose (Posenke) Dittrich. Carl married Lila (Picord) September 2, 1939 in Hyde. They raised their family in Michigan and Illinois where he worked as a carpenter. In the early sixties they moved to Willsboro where he was a mine foreman at the mining operation now known as NYCO. He was known all over the north country for his pine needle baskets. He and his wife had a wonderful shell collection from their years of wintering in Florida. In the summer everyone admired his beautiful flower gardens in town. He is survived by his wife Lila, a daughter Sandra and her husband Bill Murphy, 2 grandchildren Willy and his wife Kim Murphy and Bob and his wife Pamuela Murphy and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Clarence Dittrich, Ronald (Beatrice) Dittrich, Francis (Vivian) Dittrich and a sister Edna Kremer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters Dorothy Dittrich and Florence Blake and a brother Roger Dittrich. Graveside services in the Lakeview Cemetery will be in the spring, date and time will be announced at a later. The Activities Department at Horace Nye Home provided many hours of enjoyment for him and the family has requested that those who wish make donations in his memory to the Horace Nye Home Activities Fund, PO Box 127, Elizabethtown, NY 12932. Huestis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
