Pine Harbour welcomes North Country native as new executive director

PLATTSBURGH Raeanne McLaughlin has assumed her new position as executive director of Pine Harbour Assisted Living, a senior living community on the citys south side. Mrs. McLaughlin, a native of Plattsburgh, began her job with the local assisted living community Dec. 17. She comes back to the North Country from California, where she held similar positions in Sacramento and Los Angeles after becoming a certified executive director for residential care facilities for the elderly in 2001. I decided to return to Plattsburgh to raise my family where I grew up, said Mrs. McLaughlin. I realized how important it is to raise a child in a wonderful environment. I couldnt think of a better place to raise my daughter, but where I grew up, she added. Mrs. McLaughlin obtained her bachelors degree in psychology in 1995 and masters degree in counseling in 2000, both from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Her main objective now is to educate all of Plattsburgh and the surrounding areas of what assisted living communities such as Pine Harbour can provide and to make sure Pine Harbour residents receive the highest quality of care. It is so nice to see so many familiar faces, and getting reacquainted with old friends, said Mrs. McLaughlin. The people of the North Country are so special in that they welcome you back with open arms just like I never left. Plattsburgh is definitely the place that I call home and I am glad to be back, she added. Mrs. McLaughlin now resides in the city with her husband and their one-year-old daughter.
