Did you know?
Back on July 4, 1930, the Town of Stony Creek held its first annual Old-Fashioned Fourth of July celebration. It was a community effort sponsored by the Methodist Episcopal Church, Knowlhurst Baptist Church and the Stony Creek firemen. They had games all day for children ages 9 through teenage. A supper was served, followed by an evening program consisting of an old fashioned "sing" in which everyone was invited. The event included an evening of entertainment by various individuals, consisting of music, singing, recitations, a short humorous play and a talk on "The Boys of Yankee-Land." It was held at the Methodist Episcopal Church. Still time to order before the deadline
