PUTNAM A Putnam woman has been charged with two felonies for allegedly receiving more than $4,000 in public assistance to which she was not entitled, police said. Kelly Granger, 37, of Putnam Station, was charged with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, according to the Washington County Sheriffs Office. Granger had filed a re-certification with the Washington County Department of Social Services indicating neither she nor her husband were employed, but in fact, both had been employed, according to the sheriffs office. Granger received $4,088 she shouldnt have, officials said. She was released on her own recognizance pending prosecution in Fort Edward Town Court.
