Another bad ice storm hit the area Sunday evening leaving dangerous roads and many accidents. The temperature did warm up Thursday night. The road crews were out but not having to think about schools. The area schools are closed for Presidents week. Have fun kids. Candice Blake and daughter, Jessica Stokes from Pittston, PA visited Ron and Kathy Allen and Emma Parsons on Monday thru Weds. of last week. They came to help celebrate the 88th birthday of Emma. Candice, and Kathy are sisters, daughters to Emma. Candice is Emma's youngest. Also, over the weekend Rachel and Kurt Werger and 4 children, and Lilly and her two children visited Ron and Kathy and Emma. Rachel is Ron and Kathy's daughter. Lily is a niece. Everyone had a great time chatting. Caleb, Jonas, Leah and Gideon Werger are spending a few days with Grandpa, Grandma and great grandma. Pansy Allen sends a note saying that at age 85, almost 86, is doing great and still able to run the roads and loves going to the family dollar with daughter, Linda Ben Zinc, Lizzie Abels, Fred and Ruth Allen are enjoying a few days in the area from New Jersey. They enjoyed snowmobiling and remodeling. Shirley Cleveland is feeling so much better after a blood transfusion. It was really getting her down that she didn't feel like reading. Reading is very important to her. Now she is reading again. Khaleah Cleveland enjoyed having some friends go with her to Skate land on Friday night to celebrate her 7th birthday. They had fun and enjoyed the food to eat. Kjerstia Schilinski was hostess to a Party lite Party on Saturday afternoon. Liane Morel is the dealer and does a great job. Feb. 23 is another Craft, Cookies and Coffee afternoon at the Sodom Community Church Fellowship Room. Martha Persons will again show a fun craft at 2 p.m. Pennies plus are being collected each month to help the orphanage in Dar Salaam, Tanzania, East Africa. The name of one of the houses is "The Daisy House". Rev. Daisy Allen was there in 1982 and they are remembering her with The Daisy House.
