AMC offers forum on the Super Bug-MRSA

SARANAC LAKE Adirondack Medical Center is offering an educational opportunity to the public to better help them understand Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and other hospital acquired infections. MRSA, also known as the "super bug" has generated a great deal of media attention in recent weeks, and as a result many questions have emerged in the wake of this attention. To help sort out some of the more confusing issues, AMC is hosting a forum on Feb. 28 featuring keynote speaker Dr. Andrea Pierce, Ph.D. Dr. Pierce has over 20 years of experience in medical and molecular diagnostics. This presentation will be geared toward all members of the public, not just those individuals with a medical or health care background. The event is at 7 p.m. on Feb. 28 in McCormick Hall (Room S-19) on the Saranac Lake campus of North Country Community College. The event is open to the public, free of charge.
