Howard C. Drinkwine

MINEVILLE Howard C. Drinkwine Sr., 77, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Feb. 6, 2008. He was born Dec. 31, 1930, in Mineville, N.Y., son of Kenneth and Louise (Drinkwine) Sherman. Howard served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1953. He worked at various construction sites for the state of New York and was the last engineer for the Lake Champlain & Moriah Railroad (LC&M). He retired from Republic Steel in 1983. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Marie (Podmore) Drinkwine; daughter Luanne, her husband Arthur Dickinson and their children, Matthew and Nathan of Elizabethtown, N.Y.; son Howard Drinkwine Jr., his wife Kathy and their children, Gregory Drinkwine and fianc (c)e Rachele DePalma of New York Mills, N.Y., and Laura and Mike Wileczka of New Hartford, N.Y.; daughter Lisa, her husband Louis Trapasso Jr., and their children, Ryan and Cory of Mineville, N.Y.; son Craig Drinkwine, his wife Shari and their children, Robert (RJ), John and Trevor of Milford, Conn.; and stepson Robert Podmore of Reno, Nev. He was predeceased by his parents; and his first wife, Anna (Genier) Drinkwine. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be held in the spring at the South Moriah Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
