Historians to discuss 400th Champlain Anniversary plans

CROWN POINT, N.Y. Officials from the Hudson-Fulton-Champlain Quadricentennial Commission will speak to Champlain Valley residents on Friday, Feb. 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Crown Point State Historic Site. Robert E. Bullock from Albany, N.Y., and Dr. Celine Racine Paquette of Clinton County, N.Y., will discuss plans for the upcoming 400th anniversary of the first encounters by European explorers on the Hudson River and on Lake Champlain in 1609. An open discussion of local event and celebration ideas will follow.At the conclusion, light refreshments will be served. Residents from throughout Essex County, N.Y., and Addison County, Vt., are invited to attend this presentation.
